Image’FX Productions Inc

Status: Defunct
Founded: 1991
Founder: Thomas Juliano
Location: Westchester County, New York
Industry: Web Development, IT Services, Multimedia, Custom Software

Image’FX Productions Inc. (also known as ImageFX or Image’FX) was a New York–based technology company that operated from the early 1990s through the early 2000s. Founded and solely owned by Thomas Juliano, the company provided a broad range of digital services including web development, secure hosting, software design, multimedia branding, and IT consulting.

While now defunct, Image’FX played a notable role in supporting small-to-mid-sized businesses during the rise of the commercial internet, and served as a vehicle for various personal and professional projects developed by Thomas Juliano.

Core Services:

Image’FX offered a mix of creative, technical, and infrastructure services tailored to businesses transitioning into the online space:

  • Custom Website Design and Development
Tailored HTML and multimedia sites, often developed entirely in-house.

  • Web Hosting and Server Management
Unlike many firms that outsourced, Image’FX hosted its own web servers, giving clients full control, reliability, and security.

  • Business Software and Application Tools
Developed specialized utilities, forms, and internal tools for manufacturers, service providers, and creative professionals.

  • IT Consulting and Infrastructure Planning
Provided hands-on network solutions, including setup, security, and integration with legacy systems.

  • Multimedia and Graphics Services
Created branded logos, 2D/3D animations, video content, and marketing materials for early web and CD-ROM delivery formats.

  • Digital Utilities and Shareware
Released proprietary applications and public FTP resources for client use and general download.

Connection to ExecNet:

In the late 1990s, Image’FX Productions Inc. acquired access to and integrated elements of ExecNet, a LAN-based bulletin board system originally created by Andy Keeves and operated under Cyllon Systems International, Ltd.

While ExecNet as a dial-up system was nearing obsolescence at the time, Thomas Juliano used Image’FX to:

  • Preserve and integrate parts of ExecNet’s functionality into web services

  • Maintain its archive of software tools and community data

  • Transition the branding and technical legacy into a modern hosting environment

Though Image’FX is no longer active, its involvement played a transitional role in helping preserve aspects of ExecNet’s platform during a critical phase in digital history.

Company Closure and Legacy:

By the early 2000s, Image’FX Productions Inc. ceased operations. The shift toward mass-market web hosting, cloud platforms, and consolidated CMS systems made small, independent hosts like Image’FX increasingly difficult to sustain.

Despite its closure, Image’FX is remembered for:

  • Providing end-to-end digital services during the formative years of the internet

  • Supporting small businesses with tailored web and IT solutions

  • Acting as a preservation point for legacy systems like ExecNet

Today, its history is part of the larger story of early digital entrepreneurship and DIY-era internet development.
